,Hi guys
.Thanks for responding so promptly to our E mail
We remember Nachshon with nostalgia. We are however
not in touch with
.any ex-volenteers
We return to visit almost yearly and make it a priority
to visit the
.kibbutz once or twice
I first arrived on Nachshon April 1st 1987 on a lark.
I was living in
a collective house in Denmark during a stark and bone
chilling
winter (meaning I had a bad affair). By Febuary I
had gotten it into
my head that I needed armfuls of sunshine. I narrowed
my choices down
to Madrid or Israel. The man at the travel agency
told me he knew
someone on kibbutz Nachshon and sold me a ticket.
He arranged for
the volenteer leader to pick me up. I arrived late
in the evening and
there was no volenteer leader. I waited an hour, still
no one. I went
out and spoke to a cab driver. Did I want to go to
"Nachshon or
Nachshoneem" he wanted to know. I had no idea.
Well out of the crowd
stepped someone from Nachshon who had overheard our
conversation and
offered to drive me to Nachshon. That was the fateful
beginning of my
.few years on Nachshon and my lifetime connection
I hope all is well
