Nachshon Winery, Israel - Introduction
Nachshon is situated in the western part of the Ayalon Valley in central Israel.
A visit to the Nachshon Winery usually starts with a short walk to our own wine vat, carved out of solid rock. We explain the place of the grape and wine in the Bible and build on that basis to explain modern winemaking in our winery. A tour of the winery is always completed with a tasting of our wines in the tasting room. The tasting room is well stocked with our own sheep cheese, olives and olive oil and a wide variety of natural products, all made in Israel, of course!
Our Vineyard is planted along the Nachshon riverbed, midway between Kibbutz Nachshon and the Latroun Monestary. The soil is clay based, well drained and irrigated with a computerized system, to give maximum control of vine growth.
The grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvingnon, Merlot, Argaman, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc.
